I run XP OS on my laptop, 1G memory, 1.66 Ghz, 106G harddrive, Pioneer DVS-RW DVR-K17RS. I contacted Roxio support but they are no help with this problem.
I've used a Microsoft DOS program for years called 'mapsym.exe' v4.0 which generates symbol debug files on map input files generaged by my assembler. I use these symbol files to debug my source code using symdeb.exe. I run 'mapsym.exe' on the XP Command-line.
After I first loaded Roxio Easy CD & DVD on my computer, I noticed that 'mapsym.exe' started reporting the error 'error 2000: Stack overflow' and it no longer runs and generates the symbol file but just reports the stack error. I don't even have to specify a .map input file, if I just type 'mapsym' it displays the error and returns to the c: prompt.
Next I uninstalled Roxio Easy CD & DVD and tried mapsym gain but it still displayed the stack error.
I then restored a restore point just before I installed the Roxio software and once I did that my mapsym program started working again as it did before this whole mess started.
I then re-installed Roxio Easy CD & DVD again and the same stack error program started again where running mapsym.
I checked with Microsoft help with this stack error and tried their suggestion to put he line 'Stacks=64,000'
in my system file windows\system32\config.nt (config.sys used by XP) but still have the stack error when
running mapsym.
I have to be able to run mapsym to debug my assembly code, so if I can't find a solution to this problem I
will have to do the restore point again and just return the Roxio software.
thanks in advance - Dale

Yes, return it if you can.
It's over three years old, isn't supported by Roxio, and is considered "Legacy" software. It's obviously having a conflict with your DOS program.

You may want to try a Custom Install and leave off Drag to Disc.
However as Brendon indicates, it is an old program and perhaps not worth the tinkering to get it to run…
