I am using a Dell Inspiron with Windows Vista. I bought the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD so that I could burn all my old VHS movies to DVD so I could get rid of the VCR.
I installed the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD without problems. Burned my first VHS to DVD successfully. I burned three more then realized that all that is burned on those three DVDs is the example title page "Your Title Here" (the picture that appears in the screen that you'll eventually see the video playing when it starts capturing.)
I restarted my computer made sure NOTHING else was running, rechecked all the connections and tried again- had another successful VHS to DVD burn.
I did the same thing today- restarted, nothing else running, followed the directions to a T and again I have another DVD that has just "Your Title Here" with the example music and the airplane flying around.
Each time I have gone through the same process: Plug and Burn, No Menu, DVD, Next, and capture. Each time the video IS capturing- I see and hear (audio) the video playing and I can hear the DVD drive "working." When complete- I click Finish- then it goes through it whole finalizing thing. I never get an error message or any indication that anything went wrong.
What am I doing wrong???? My success rate is not great: 2 good and 4 duds- at the rate I'm going it will take me years and thousands to DVDs to complete this!

Try capturing to your hard drive, first. Then burn it to a DVD.
Try playing the captued video, and see if it captured okay, before you burn it to a DVD.
