Like some others, I have suddenly been unable to play my DVD collection after upgrading to Creator 2010.
I have Vista (32-bit) Business with all the latest SPs etc.
Following a lead on an earlier version's forum, I created a new User Account, and found that, provided I disabled hardware acceleration, I could get DVD playback as the new User.
Under my own name, I get very bad sound only using CInePLayer and WMP refuses, complaining about screen resolution.
I've got a tech support conversation going, but so far, none of their suggestions have made a difference. (Re-installation of the CODEC, upgrade to display driver, etc.)
Anyone seen anything similar?
Any magicians know the magic words?

For me, Cineplayer (2009 and 2010) works just fine with any DVD under normal account. There is some incompatibility with your system and your install.

Does the new account have admin privileges?
Thanks for your replies, folks!
The plot has thickened since I made the original post... now, it seems that the new account fails to work while my original account has started to work! I suspect that there is something going on with Windows now, because although I have not made any changes to the Roxio setup or anything else myself, I do allow auto-update for Vista, and that's the only difference I can think of.
Just to correct a misapprehension, hardware acceleration won't work under either account.
As for user priviledges, my new user is only a standard user. My own account carries all admin priviledges.
When I get the time, I shall try a clean install once more as per Roxio's instructions. However, if that doesn't work without further fuss I shall ask for a refund & try some other product, not only because of this issue, but also because MyDVD has a number of problems which are stopping me doing what I require. I shouldn't have upgraded, I think.

Start a new post about those MyDVD problems!
None of us have had any with it, so we are curious…
However keep in mind 30 days to return it and the clock is ticking.
