Have Easy CD & DVD Burning Softare.  Would like to know best way to connect component stereo system for brecording/burning LPs to CDs.

Have a Dual 1229 turntable with RCA connectors that go to Amp (Sansui AU-999) - Phono 1.  On back of Amp are also Phone 2, Auxilliary, and Tuner connection spots for RCA plugs.  The amp also has Tape 1 and Tape 2
RCA inputs for playing and recording.  The tuner (Sansui TU-999) has two sets of RCA inputs - Output and Tape Recorder.

What is recommended to produce the best recording quality to PC and then CD.

Could use a single, stereo connection from headphone jack on front of amp with a 3.5mm connection to PC sound card, but have read this is not the best/ideal way to do it.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Jerry

It would appear your Amp does not have any RCA Output jacks, so you will have to use the headphone jack into your Line In on your sound card.

You will have to play with the Volume Control levels so that you don't overdrive you sound card.

You'll find that the "Recording" jacks for Tape 1 and Tape 2 are actually outputs.  So, connect your turntable to the Sansui AU-999, to either the Phono1 or Phono2 inputs.  Select the appropriate phono input as the input on the front panel.  Now connnect either Tape 1 Record or Tape 2 Record to your sound card using a "Y" cable that goes from a pair of RCA plugs to a 3.5mm stereo plug, and plug the 3.5mm plug into the Line-In input of your sound card.

That should get you the proper signal level and RIAA equalization to digitize your LPs.

You'll probably have to adjust the line-in level to get a good signal without clipping.  The controls in LP and Tape Assistant may be enough to do that.

If you run into issues, let us know!
