i have a problem with my roxio creator 10.2
i recently formatted my vista and downloaded roxio again
i downloaded updates from dell and updated firmware to the most recent
so here is the problem
i have recently bought DVD+R empty discs
however, i tried to burn music into this from Audio CD section (which roxio says its compatible with), but when i drag music and click "continue", my disc ejects and it says i need a blank disc and lists what discs are compatible with roxio (and DVD+R is one of them),
helpppppppp =(

Hi,
You have lost me. I can't work what you are trying to do, and what part of the software you're trying to do it with.
[1] Can you explain what you said above, a bit more fully please?
[2] Did "whateveritis" you are trying to do work before you reinstalled your Vista?
Regards,
Brendon

and yes roxio worked before i formatted my PC, and before i formatted my PC, i have always burned my music into the disc via Audio CD
i would drag music there and press continue and it would burn should fine
but now it just ejects the disc and says i need to put in a blank one when indeed the disc is blank

Just a quick guess, since it's still not incredibly clear, but if you're trying to create a playable Audio CD, you have to use CD-R discs, not DVD+R discs. From the message you're getting, and the fact you indicated you're trying to use DVD+R discs, I'd say that's the problem. Get some regular CD-R discs to create your Audio CDs.
Hope that helps!

Use Music Disc Creator, if your OEM version has it included in the suite. You can burn music to a DVD, if you have a DVD burner.
And, on what do you plan on playing the DVD?

An Audio-CD [like you buy at the store with a music album on it] is a special type of disc. This can only be recorded onto a CD, and can hold a maximum of 80 minutes of audio.
The limitation is written into the standard controlling audio CDs, and isn't just a matter of choice. All CD players have to be able to play a standard Audio-CD, and they won't change the standard because that would mean all your CD players in the world would have to be changed to suit it. That's why the software won't let you try to burn an Audio-CD to a DVD.
If you're trying to put music onto a DVD so that you can have a very loooooong playing session that you can play without having to change the disc, you have a couple of choices that I can think of. There might be more choices, but the ones I'm thinking of are:
[1] MP3 disc.
Most modern CD or DVD players will play discs with MP3s on them. The number of MP3s you can get on a CD varies, but I typically get around 200 songs playing for around 12 hours on one ordinary sized CD.
DVD players will often play data DVDs with MP3s on them, but it depends on the player how many files you can have in a directory. One of mine would only read the first 150 in a folder, while another would read the first 300. Both of them would play an awful number of MP3s squashed onto a DVD though.
[2] Music DVD
The second alternative is to use Music Disc Creator to make a DVD Music disc for you.
This disc is a Video-DVD with menus but no movies - just sound. You can squeeze a lot of audio tracks onto one of these, but I've never made a full one so I can't say what the limits are.
The thing about these DVDs is that they'll play on any DVD player that can play burned discs, and don't need one of the more modern players to work.
I hope this explains the situation for you.

And, on what do you plan on playing the DVD?
maybe for the car
i didnt know this when i was buying the Disc
do i need to buy a music disc creator?
im really bad with the tech stuff, im really sorry for asking you guys too many questions =/
but i really liked the simplicity of burning the CD in audio CD
if putting music on DVD is hard, i dont know what ill do
and i successfully burned the music into a CD-R drive so that means roxio works but now i wanna know how i can put music into the disc i have (DVD+R) with the roxio i have (if i can)

1. You cannot create audio DVDs only CDs.
2. DVDs will not play in your car unless your car has a DVD player.

Depending on your car's CD player, it may support MP3 CDs, in which case, you can put a lot more music onto the disc (up to 10 or 11 hours). You'll have to look at the manual for your car's CD player to find out if it supports MP3 discs, or it may even say "MP3" somewhere on the front panel. You can also just create an MP3 disc (choose MP3 CD as the type of disc when you go to make your CD), put it in your car CD player, and see if it starts to play it. If so, you're good to go, if it acts like there's no disc in the drive, then it may not support MP3 CDs.
"Music Disc Creator" is one part of the Easy Media Creator 10 suite of programs. It will let you create Audio CDs (like you've done) and also MP3 CDs. You can get to it by going to Start -> Programs -> Easy Media Creator 10 ->Applications -> Music Disc Creator.
Hope that helps!

Well, assuming you have a collection of .MP3 files, they're useful as backup storage for them, or transporting them to the office. For general playing though, unless you're using the DVD connected to your home theater system, yeah, they're not necessarily too useful for music.
Movies are indeed a good use. They're also useful for storing that backup image of your hard drive. (You do have one, don't you?)

If like Dave asked your car can play mp3's and DVD's then just use a DVD to write them to instead of a cd and they should work for music.
If not then yeah,no music on them will work in your car.
