Hi everyone,
I keep trying to use Roxio and I keep getting this:
THis application has failed to start because cpsipp30.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem.
Anyway, I have removed the old application and reinstalled Creator 9 and I have also installed the serivce pack 4. I can still not get it to work.
Can anyone help me with this????
Thanks
Jim

Jim,
You had better start by telling me which Roxio suite you have. The reason for this will become apparent a little further on. Would you please answer all of the following questions . . .
[1]-Do you have Creator 9 like you said? Creator 9 or EMC9 is the version from three years back.
or
-do you have Creator 2009? Creator 2009 is last year's version, and it has 4 Service Packs, and this is the Creator 2009 forum.
[2]-If you have Creator 2009, have you ever had an earlier version of Easy Media Creator installed on your system?
[3]-which application in the suite, or what part of the suite are you trying to run/use when you get this error?
The reason for this is that I've searched through my installations of Creator 2009 in Vista and XP, and I can't find CPSIPP30.DLL in any of them. Web searches suggest that it's a file from Roxio Photosuite, but although C2009 includes a version of Photosuite which seems to be working okay, that DLL doesn't occur in any of mine.
Regards,
Brendon

Brendon,
I have Roxio Creator 2009. I bought it last year, so i think it is just the regular version.
I have tried the service packs and they are not working to fix the problem.
I have had an earlier version.. I forgot what version it was though... I did erase it when I installed the creator 2009.
It gives me the dll. note when I click on the Media Creator Home
The Creator Classic , and Label Creator will not pull up
Disc Copier, Disc Image Loader, sound editior, Easy Audio Capture, Lp and Tape Assistant says it is an invalid installation
Divix to DVD creator pulls up, ,
Drag to Disc tells me to reinstall.
DVD Builder, Video Wave, Media Manager 7.exe, and Photo Suite all get the dll message
DVD Info Pro pulls up
Read Me pulls up
Roxio Retrieve Pulls Up
I have taken the whole thing off before.. reinstalled it, and downloaded the service pac.. but nothing seems to work. Oh, and this program was working fine before.
Any suggestions???
Jim

I have found it on my XP system (Windows/system32) on which I had at one time installed EMC 7/7.5. I believe this is a left over dll from that version since I cannot find it on my Vista system which only had versions from EMC 10 installed on it. So apparently it is not needed by the newer systems.
The creation date for the file is March 2004 and it is supposedly part of the Photosuite package.

All of the items, bolded above, came with an earlier version of Roxio software, probably Easy Media Creator 7 or 7.5. None of them are included in Creator 2009.
It appears that you did not go through Add/Remove Programs to take the earlier version(s) off of your computer.
Life is good!
