Do you have the latest version of Quicktime installed on your computer?

Download and run gspot codec information appliance on the .MOV file to see if you are missing a codec you need if the above doesn't work.

I've upgraded my QuickTime version and have run gspot. Gspot did not indicate missing codecs. The mov video plays fine with audio except inside EMC9's videowave. Is there a fix to videowave perhaps?

Well, it is not a fix but a work around and it depends on how many mov files your have. Using Media Manager, right click on the mov file and extract audio. Save the file as a wav file.

Open Video Wave and add the video file. Switch to timeline and add the audio file to the music track (or any other audio track except the "native" track. Make sure the cursor is at the beginning of the video file. Move the audio file to sync with the video.

Later versions have the ability to handle the mov audio.

I can't remember if the higher end versions of EMC 9 came with Bias Sound Soap but if you have it, you can use that to extractr the audio also.

Aside from all the other suggestions, sometimes one will miss making sure that when you add a video to a production that has audio included, they forget to make sure that the "Native Audio" option is checked.

The screen shots I have shown are NOT for your version of Roxio but a later version, but are similar. So not sure if this might make a difference.

EDIT: This reply and the screen shots are a bit misleading in the fact that one would think that checking or not checking the "native Audio" option would let you hear or not hear the audio included in the video. That's not the case. Checking or not checking that option only merely let's you "SEE" that video track when you are in the "timeline" mode. And then could be used to "edit that track. My apologies to a fellow guru (sknis) and the OP that might have been mislead.

Redwagon, I had already done that but tried again thinking second or third time might be the charm, but nope. Thanx anyway.

Sknis, I tried the workaround twice on 2 different mov files but when media manager saved the wav file, nothing was there except the file name. Any thoughts on this?

Solution to workaround found: I found a program which enables the workaround: X2X Free Audio Converter. It's at X2Xsoft.com
