angry.gif That's the same problem that I have!! I have been using Photosuite 7, 9 and 10. Forget about 9. Ten has given me lots of trouble. My Dell laptop is only 2 years old. I bought it stictly for my photo and art programs. It worked well at first. At the beginning of this year I tackled the slideshow program. After my frustration for many hours trying to figure it out, I made it work "good enough" to do a memorial of my mother.

I went through the same things you did: "...the program hung up and I had to go to the Task Manager to end the program. When I tried to open the program up again, I got a Roxio Creator dialogue box that said, " Roxio Creator has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. . . . . We have created an error report that you can send to help us improve Roxio Creator. . . . " I shut down my computer and restarted to no avail. I called my local tech person and ran this all by him. He suggested I remove the Roxio program and redownload. I removed every roxio, smartsound, sonic, cinemanow program in my program list and spent another couple of hours redownloading the software again. Everything went well but after the 2nd installation, this time the RC 2010 would not even open. The "Roxio has encountered a problem" dialogue box came up from the getgo."

I bought insurance for my Dell (hardware and software). I called Dell for help. They finally had to totally remove my Creator 10. When we tried to re-install it, the CD no longer was active or something.

I have tried to get help, but I only receive computerized messages that has me running in a hampster cage. They say "It's been 5 days and you haven't responded, so we figure that the problem is solved". How do you get a real person to help??? They respond, I respond...I am really upset about it. This has been going on for weeks and weeks.

I like the program and know it pretty well. I hate to learn another program, but it looks like I'm headed that way unless I get this program fixed or Roxio comes through for me!!!

I can't help you, I just needed to vent somewhere else. Maybe someone reading our complaints will help us with a solution. Thank you. Granny

Does the Dell OEM 10.2 Version have PhotoSuite? If the disc is from Dell, call them back and have them send you a new one that you can use to install the program.
