I have Dell's Easy Media Creator 9 that came with the Dell XPS 420 hi end Cptr.
When capturing S-VIDEO from a Sony SVHS Tape deck and there is a gap of any kind
or original tape transport had a minor glitch - the Roxio stops recording
and says SIGNAL PROTECTED - Save File    This can occur many times on Non-Copyrighted video
and u can't record without constantly rewinding - find where it stopped etc... What a hassel!
If Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 can allow "Save the File" then why not just allow it on the run
and continue????? Noticed that this problem has been solved on other Roxio software - .....
A no video gap of 2 mins wud be reasonable - then really stop.
I wud like to keep using Roxio - but if it can't do the job - will have to try another vendor.....
Any thots anyone?  Thanks

Known issue; won't be fixed in your version which is an OEM castrated version and 4 versions ago -- nor will it probably be fixed in the newer versions.  Use something like WMM or DV Split to capture.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
