Well, you are definitely in the wrong forum (Venue and Qflix) and will be moved. How could you miss the Creator 2009 forum?

What does “won’t let me do anything mean”???
The answer most likely lies in the error/warning message that only you can see.
You mentioned a VIDEO_RM directory… did you copy these VHS tapes to a DVD Recorder yourself?
Are these ‘plus’ or ‘dash’ DVD’s?

So you used a set-top recorder to put your home movies from VHS onto DVD 6 months back, and now can't edit them?
Does the DVD play in an ordinary DVD player?
What files do you see in the Video_TS folder on that DVD?

Video_RM folder? Sounds like you used the wrong mode. Some set top recorders have a VR mode which was designed for editing in the recorder. USe MyDVD and use the 'Edit Disc' mode to see if it will read it. Otherwise, you may have to do the disc over and set the recorder to the other setting. If you tell the model, maybe we can find the manual online to help with that.
