I have the same issue.

Dell Inspiron 1521
Vista home premium sp1
Uninstalled all Roxio trial programs on computer.
Installed 2010 from website and had the problem.
Used cd to uninstall/reinstall 2010.
Still have problem.

"the certificate file is missing or has been corrupted. please re-install it."

"no permissions to launch application"

On all video/DVD applications.

Thanks for any help.

The only way to resolve the problem is a clean install (link). There were some things left over from the earlier software install/uninstall. Get some help if you feel uncomfortable doing a registry edit. Print off the instructions and don't add or skip any steps.

BTW, make sure you make a copy of the Creator 2010 download so you will be able to work with it if something happens after 30 days.

There should be a couple of places that you can look.

C:\Program Files\Roxio 2010 and
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared

Both of those will be deleted and recreated with the clean install that sknis is referring to.

Followed the instructions and no change. angry.gif Any other suggestions? Still waiting to hear from support, who will probably direct me to the same link.

Make sure you do not skip ANY steps. At least one person indicated that they had to do it a couple of times before it "Took"

Along with the clean install steps. Remove this folder that houses the database for the certificates.

C:\Users\All Users\Sonic

1 other suggestion while running installation is disabling anti-virus.

I've posted a few extra steps for clean install here

Windows 7, unable to reinstall. The first couple times I tried to install creator 10 I had issues because of my Anti Virus, disabled it and was able to install but receive the certificate error. I then installed and followed precisely all the clean-up instructions and I'm still unable to install. The install starts then runs through quickly like its going to install then it promptly backs out of the install and says it wont work. I would like to use the software because I have used the previous version and enjoyed it but it appears hopeless I just hope I can get a refund If I'm unable to resolve.

If you are referring to Creator 2010 then say so, otherwise don't post in threads that have nothing to do with the version you are running.

If you actually have 2010, then read and follow the instructions posted here.

You sure are a grumpy person with your replies. As stated in my post I AM USING Creator 2010. Windows 7 64bit.

So we can have a proper discussion about this topic this is what I did to resolve my issue.

I got it to work finally, I was having problems with my Office 2007 install (likely due to me messing with the registry). With some difficulty I was able to restore my system to an older state. I disabled my Norton anti virus (this time), installed Roxio and its updates. Success! This whole problem started for me with my Norton anti-virus, apparently Roxio installs something somewhere that Norton doesn't like. Perhaps Roxio should resolve this issue.

You did not state that you were using Creator 2010 - you stated "I tried to install creator 10" which is a completely different program. In addition this thread is about installed Creator 2010 on "Vista home premium sp1" not W7 64bit unsure.gif
