Hope someone can help...
I've figured out how to add a chapter mark in a production, but can't add a button that will show on the menu.
It indicates that I should check the box "generate chapter menue and link to selected button"...but I can't see what this box is that I'm supposed to check.
I'm adding the chapters manualy.

I'd like to have buttons on the intro that take you to a certain segment in the production...

Thanks for you help

Get yourself some RWs and think about how Commercial DVD’s really work…

An ‘Intro’ is a movie or slide show that automatically plays when the DVD is inserted = no buttons!

A Main Menu page is probably what you are talking about.

You add your Movie on that page and you can rename it Scenes. You right click the button and the chapter selector will come up and it automatically defaults to Create Chapter Menus each and every time.

If it doesn’t show, it is because you selected from the left side Project View, with the Movies tab selected.

Buttons for the Chapters will be generated on new menu pages.

On the Main page you can add an Unlinked button, then link it to your movie as a Play All.

You will have to play around as you learn and take notes. Use very small projects (I use single pictures or short clips) and RW media until you get it right.

Thanks Jim.....that's exactly what I'm trying to do.  Main menu page.
The "generate chapter menu..." check box does not appear, so I'm doing it wrong.

I'm at a differant location right now so I don't have Roxio in front of me and my terminology may be goofy, but what I've done is to;
1) Send the production to MyDVD....
2) Go to the "Edit chapters" screen you have shown.
3) Manualy go the location in the production that I want to mark as a chapter and click "add chapters here"
It marks the location, but since I am not seeing the "generate chapter menu..." box, I must be in the "movie" tab when I'm attempting to generate the chapter.

I'll try it as suggested this evening.   I think the only way I could get the "edit chapter" icon to be available was in the movie tab, but I'll try again.

thanks very much....

You see the chapter options if you are in the correct folder.  You should be in menus; not in movies.  See image above.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

You can also Right Click the button on the Main Menu that plays the video to choose 'Edit Chapters'.
