I just purchased Creator 2010. While attemping to launch "Create DVD's", "Edit Video-Advanced", or "Copy and Convert Video" I get the error message "No permissions to launch application." I can go no further with those menu options. I would appreciate assistance on getting these features to work. Am running on an HP HDX18 laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium. Thanks.

Mostly a Vista thing, assuming your account has full privileges…
Most likely you will have to Uninstall 2010
Create a New Account with full administrative privileges
Install 2010 from that account.
Delete that account. It will ask about keeping the program.

I tried your suggestions and am still having the same issue. The only thing I can think of is that my laptop is not currently connected to the internet. Is it possible the DVD functions require internet access to work?

I'm having the same problems as Thelzz. I downloaded Roxio Creator 2010 and installed it without incident. All functions of the program are working except when i try to open, "Create DVD's" or "Edit Video Advanced" I get the message in a windows ERROR box, "No Permissions to launch application" I have deleted and reloaded the program 3 times with the same result. I also own the software " ROXIO Easy VHS to DVD. In that software you can also perform "Create DVD's" and "Edit Video" functions which give me the same ERROR message as listed above. Based off two different programs giving me the same Error message for the same functions i can assume it's VISTA. I checked and changed all my permissions under the ROXIO software icons and am running as the Administrator. I even did as recommended by Jim Hardin's post and created a new ADMIN acct loaded Roxio and then wiped the acct etc.... same result. I can usually mull through problems like these but i'm at wits end with this one.
System: I/7 processor, VISTA 64, 6G RAM, GTX-280 Video...
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Try running the applications separately via the programs menu. Right mouse click on the application and choose run as administrator.
You may end up doing a clean installation.
Clean install instructions for Creator 2009 and 2010 on Windows Vista
I know Creator 2009 and ROXIO Easy VHS to DVD can't run under the same OS. This may also hold true for Creator 2010.

It Does Not!!! V2D was built from 2009 so it conflicts with that one. But it is compatible with ALL other version from V6 through and including 2010.
One other culprit for this error is Vista UAC. With that left on, it is denied the temp file access permissions and throws that error message.
