I'm using a 17-inch MacBook  Pro (2.33 GHz/2GB RAM/OS 10.5.8) and "Easy" VHS to DVD for Mac ver 1.0.3. I CAN'T EVEN GET THE PROGRAM TO OPEN!! Well, actually, it opens... but all I get is a screen saying to plug the USB hardware into any available USB 2.0 port. ALL OF THE USB PORTS ARE 2.0!!! I've only gotten this program to work 3 times, after much closing-reopening and restarting the computer. Once it launches it works fine and I can record as many programs and as much as I want. But if I close the program I'm screwed, as it won't launch again. The few recordings I've gotten have been in various USB ports.. so I know it works... occasionally.

Toast has been a program that I've relied on for many years, but this software seems like it was designed by someone else. Why can no one help me with this!?!?!?

Sorry you're having such trouble with it. Apparently the device is not being recognized as connected. Here's a way to check if the Mac is seeing the device: After inserting the device (don't try to launch the application) open System Profiler. In System Profiler's hardware list click on USB. Under USB high-Speed Bus you should see a "USB 2861 Device." If you don't see it remove and reinsert the device and choose Refresh from the View window. Try this a few times if needed.

Presuming it does become recognized in System Profiler, launch the application. It should be found.

Let me know what you're finding out from this test.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

Thanks Digital guru, I did do this and when I first plugged the Video Capture device into my MacBook Pro it actually showed up! So to test it I took it out and tried again... NO LUCK!  angry.gif And no luck since! I've restarted 3 times, refreshed multiple times, and the USB device does not show up in the Profilier.

I'm convinced that it is, in fact, the USB device. Do you think I can get a replacement? Stay tuned.....
