bought roxio creator 2010 pro and easy vhs to dvd. both have the same problem on install directx 9 rollback. Been working with sonicboom (very helpful) and he was able to get my vhs to dvd to load, but now when i go to use it i get error code d3dx9_33.dll. Jim Hardin closed out my post because he said once i fixed one the other would be fine, but that is not true as apparently they have different files and are not the same because i was able to load vhs 2 dvd (although it is not working) but i still can't get creator 2010 to load. Also i was told to call tech support for free, ha! ha!, they "must" charge me $28.75 minumum for 15 minutes, with no guarantee.

i just want to get these two expensive programs to work, very frustrating...

You actually spoke to a tech who told you there would be a charge??? huh.gif

And what of this post you made yesterday “thanx, i've been working with support and they have been no use at all but i will try again...”

There is really no reason to install both 2010 and V2D as 2010 is superior in every way. Of course if you want to put one on one PC and the other on another, that would be a good plan. biggrin.gif

yes when i called they told me there would be a minumum charge of $28.75 for fifteen minutes, when i say support was no help i am talking about roxio online support, not the roxio community discussion groups, many techs are redundant and tell you to do the same thing. lastly if i only need one program great, but when i ordered the program i called sales hotline and they sold me on the vhs2dvd? now you have me totally confused, especially since neither one works i don't even know what the programs looks or acts like...

My questions – comments are a bit off the subject so I will defer and let cd continue. (he is pretty darned good, you know)

Both programs are pretty slick once you get them running, you will be pleased smile.gif

Look in the drive your Vista is installed on, example mine F:\Windows\System32 ... Replace F with your drive letter and navigate to \Windows\System32.

Do you show the d3dx9_33.dll?
