I just purchased V2D and have been fighting with this all day. I installed the software then pluged in my VCR with the cables and figured out how to capture to my computer. The problem is I have no sound on the computer and my discs are not working in my other player. I have read the other posts and tried to download the service pack 2 but I am getting the "cannot find Roxio software" error. I completely removed the program three times and still getting the same error. I have an HP media center PC with a pentium4 and windows XP-and 172GB of free space.I am using only the yellow, red, white cables. thanks

At this point, the Clean Install for XP, is probably the way to go… Uninstall/Reinstall just makes little problems worse!

Before you do that let’s check a couple of things.

I am guessing you have it installed at the moment? If so, look under Help – About for the SP2. If present, it is in the Version number line:

Where is the Audio lost? If you capture a short segment is the Audio in the captured file? (no one uses P&B)

There are some players that don’t take well to AC3 Audio on burned DVD’s but it is pretty darned rare.

One other test I would like you to try… Use Windows Movie Maker to capture with. Since you have XP you can use it to capture with the USB 2861 Device. (don’t work in Vista)

Make a short capture to see if Audio is coming across.

Can you hear the Audio when it is playing before starting to Capture?
