I actually have two separate questions.

In January, I purchased RecordNow Music Lab V10.  Then, last month, I decided that I also wanted Easy DVD Copy 4 so I purchased it also.  When I went to install Easy DVD Copy 4, I encountered my first problem.

I work in certification for a software company.  One of the things that we try to make sure is that the current releases of our software are able to be installed and ran on the same machines with no problems.  Seeing that RecordNow Music Lab is a music editing software and Easy DVD Copy is a video editing software and both are current releases, I wouldn't have even thought that they could not be installed on the same machine.

Well, when I went to install Easy DVD Copy 4, it tried to uninstall RecordNow Music Lab.  After many uninstall and reinstall attempts and permutations, I finally got both to install.  It appeared that RecordNow Music Lab had tried to uninstall the Easy DVD Copy but when I clicked on the RecordNow Music Lab executable, the Easy DVD Copy commands (Compile Movies, Copy & Convert, etc) appeared in the left panel of the menu in addition to the RecordNow Music Lab commands.  I thought I was all set and then I started having more problems.

One of the features noted for Easy DVD Copy 4 was that it would convert DVD-VR and DVD+VR discs to DVD discs.  I have several of these discs and had been searching for a software that could do this for quite a long time so I was really excited to have finally found one.

Well, when I went to the Copy and Convert or Compile Movies commands and selected the DVD disc drive or the DVD_RTAV folder on the DVD, nothing appeared for selection on the right panel.  The DVD_RTAV folder contains VR_MANGR.IFO and VR_MOVIE.VOB files.  The discs have been finalized.  When I check the edit disc menu on my DVD recorder, the only option involving finalizing the discs is "Undo Finalize".  The discs did play on other players.  So they were definitely finalized.  I was told by support that if they were finalized, that the VOB files would be VRO files and that I needed to finalize them again.  I knew that they were finalized but not knowing what else to do, I selected "Undo Finalize" and THOUGHT I could re-finalize the discs.  However, I could not re-finalize the discs and it appears that two of my videos are lost.  I can find no way to play them in any player anymore including the one on which they were recorded.  It hurts me so badly because the video on one disc was over 20 years old and one of my favorite movies.  The other one is about 20 years old also.  Now the only options on my DVD recorder for these two discs is "Format".  I know I do not want to do this because I well definitely lose everything.  I checked the discs on my computer and they still contain the IFO and VOB files.  However, I cannot select these files through the Compile Movies command of Easy DVD Copy.  When I try the Copy and Convert command, the Copy button is dithered.  These leads me to my first set of questions.

Is there any way to save or restore these DVD-VR discs that contain IFO and VOB files?  For the DVD-VRs that I have not selected "Undo Finalize" for on my DVD Recorder, is there any way to convert them with the Easy DVD Copy software or did I waste my money?

This leads to my second question.  When I found that the Copy button was dithered on Copy and Convert command, I decided to uninstall both softwares and install only Easy DVD Copy to see if that would make a difference.  When I installed Easy DVD Copy by itself, I could no longer get the Copy and Convert or Compile Movies commands to appear, even within the Easy DVD Copy executable.  I then tried going back and installing both softwares on the same machine again like I had successfully done before and never could get both to install together again.  One would always uninstall the other which makes no sense to me.  It would make sense if both were music editing softwares and one was just an upgrade of the other but these are two very different softwares.  My second question is how do I get both to install and run on the same machine like I did before?

My operating system is Windows XP SP3.

If you can only answer one question, please do.  I have been worrying and trying to figure this out for over two weeks now and have become very frustrated.  I am very broken hearted that my two videos that I have cherished for about two decades may be lost so I would appreciate any useful help.

I apologize that this posting is so lengthy but I wanted to provide as much information as needed so there would be no question as to what my problems were.

Thank you very much for any help that you can provide.
