I installed Beta2 and it seemed to work (never could get the first beta to work). Tried to change preference to the folder where my old recordings are stored and it locked up. Had to delete the com.tivo files to get it to reinstall. I'm afraid to change the directpry again. Any help or advice?

Try changing the directory again, you won't cause any harm (nothing is deleted when you change directories).

How many shows are in the directory you selected? I'm curious if it's for some reason just taking a while to parse the directory and it appears to be hanging but is actually working, try leaving it for 2 or 3 minutes when it appears to lock up.
