Do you have the Vista Service Pack 1 installed?

It is required by Creator 2010, and you'll get that error if Vista SP1 isn't installed.

Hello, I can't install eigther and I have Windows 7 Professional (MSDN Version) and I have tried every method from clean install to trying to install DX first to uninstalling .Net 3.5 SP1 etc etc

I managed to install it one time and it was having issues burning data discs so I uninstalled and have not been able to reinstall since, it says the setup was interupted and does not install.

The roxio logs show DX_NOV07 Install, DX_NOV07 Uninstall and a log for something Sonic and thats it.......

Problem solved. Somehow administrator account didn't have permissions.

Log showed

MSI (s) (5C:2C) [11:52:38:979]: Product: Roxio Creator 2010 Pro -- Error 2203.Database: C:\Windows\Installer\5992a1.ipi. Cannot open database file. System error -2147287035.
Error 2203.Database: C:\Windows\Installer\5992a1.ipi. Cannot open database file. System error -2147287035.

User created new admin account and was able to install successfully.

This is quite interesting that the "administrator account" did not have permissions. In this case is there a way to address install issue on admin account since I have seen some users assuming "admin account" being clean and never getting affected and hence hesitant to create new account.

The installer already makes a check for an elevated admin account. This is during installation probably due to something else modifying folder privileges somewhere along the line. Only way to tell is by looking at the logs.
