I have just bought Roxio creator 2010 with the vhs to dvd usb stick. I connected an S Video cable to the back of the VHS machine (S-VIDEO OUT) and then connected the end to the USb caputure stick.

After trial and error I was able to get a signal from VHS machine to PC. Pressed Start Capture button and the programme duly said it was capturing - but also the time was ticking away I couldn't see any of the VHS film on the screen on my pc - can anyone help??? I did press play on my VHS machine.

I have used a camcorder to capture film onto my pc before and that did work - so what is it that I am doing wrong???

So you really do not have the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD software at all, right???

The answer to that determines the solution for the problem since they are completely different software packages.

thanks for your reply.

I bought a package from CostCo which quoted on the box the following:

"With Creator 2010 you can copy and  back up all your files, and get creative with your digital video, music and phots. Easy to follow video tutorials will guide you to great result in no time, and this VHS to DVD edition has all you need to easily convert old VHS tapes to enjoy on DVD disc, video iPod and other players".

Therefore, I assumed that I had all the equipment needed. I have a disc for the 2010 Creator and a Roxio Video Capture USB stick  - do I have all the equipment needed????

Pay a little more attention to the box. Nowhere does it say anything about Easy VHS to DVD

You have Creator 2010 Special Edition so this is not the area to post in and we will get it moved.

When you captured from your camcorder, I am guessing you didn’t use the USB Capture device?

You need to confirm you have correctly installed your drivers for the device. There is a posting Here, that you can compare the pictures to your PC.

Have you selected the S-Video input in the capture software?
