Ok I learned tons from your help and feel happy with my progress on day one with new computer and 2010 now installed. I did as suggested with four slideshows in Videiowave and then compiled the slideshows in My DVD. Individually they worked fine with music and syncronization to music.
As a compilation in MYDVD I somewhere created four menus and they play individually. When I burned the DVD I have the movie without the music. I'm confused. Help if you will?
Thanks

Sometimes this has more to do with your computer and your burner than anything else.  If you are burring directly to the disc from MyDVD, your computer may not be able to keep up.  Burn to an image (ISO)  file first  and then copy the disc image file to your disc using Video Copy and Convert.

I assume that you are using good quality DVDs - No Memorex or Store Brands.

Also, remember that you cannot use any music that is DRM protected such as that you bought (rented) from an on-line store like ITunes.  They will play on your computer but will not be put into the burned slide show.

Please put your computer specs in your signature via the MyContols link at the top of the page.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

The rented itunes music is likely the answer - I am assuming.
What are good quality DVDs? Using TDK and just bought 100 Memorex which will be going back - what do you recommend?

Your rental agreement allows to to burn the music to a certain amount of times to a CD/DVD and play the music files.  The agreement supposedly does not allow you to use that music for any other reason.

You can use any music you rip from a CD/DVD to your computer to use in a slide show.  RIP the music as wav files to a new folder (not ITunes) for best results. Read between the lines.

TDK are OK, Verbatim are better and Taiyo Yuden (on line only) are best..  If you have a printer that will direct lable on a disc, then the "Water Shield-White"  are very impressive.

Again for best results, burn to an Image (ISO) file and then copy that image file to a disc.
