I have several versions of your software purchased over the years, hundreds of $$$$'s spent. So why is it the more I use your "latest and greatest" software I find my hair falling out by the handfuls!!!! This is ridiculous, how frickin' hard can you make it to create a CD label. When launching the software I get this stripped down piece of crap that doesn't allow you to do anything, so you go to the start menu and launch the "real" label creator and you start out with two stupid blue lines you can't adjust, solution: start with one of our pre made templates and just delete everything. Give me a break, why is it harder today to create labels with your software than it has ever been. K.I.S.S. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID!!! Why is the free stuff on the Memorex website easier and more intuitive to use than this great product you seem bound and determined to ruin.

Well I for one am done with this sinking ship!! I'll just keep my $$$ from now on.

You never answer your posts…

You asked about the “blue lines” and Label Creator in August and I answered you – Here

You asked another question in Jun and 2 people answered – Here

And yet another in post in May where 2 answered – Here

In 2010, both Label Creator as well as the Express Labeler are accessible directly from the Home app (Create Labels & Create Labels – Advanced):

People are willing and trying to help you but will soon tire of trying, given your poor record of responses.

Just create a label and burn it to Lightscribe. Just how more simple can that be? We've answered your questions several times as Jim pointed out. The Lightscribe templates is for TEXT ONLY labels. Don't use it! Simple as that. DoH!

Uh yes I do answer my posts, apparently I'm not getting email notifications of responses, which I thought were turned on.

Your response: "This is about LightScribe, but should put you on the right path…If not, post back"

That particular day the link you provided got me going.
I also made mention of this trick in my rant. Sorry if I didn't acknowledge your post.

Your Response: "Not a clue what your talking about?"
Again I never received an email notification, I watched it for awhile but got busy with something else and forgot about it.
FWIW This post had absolutely nothing to do with label creator.

Answered my own question, got a couple cute responses, no help to speak of.
FWIW again this has nothing to do with label creator.

Sorry for the poor record, I'll double check the email notifications.

I'm not trying to use the lightscribe template, it is defaulting to it. It does not do that on my laptop which does not have a lightscribe drive, but on my desktop, which has lightscribe it does.
Since I have only posted a question about this once, why did you answer it several times? That seems rather foolish, DoH! huh.gif

It defaults to it because you have a LightScribe drive…

That’s the way it works – can’t be changed.

I keep a few “blank.jwl” templates on hand, set to read only so I won’t wreck them

Attached Image: monthly_09_2009/post-39730-1254219869.jpg

Start program – File, Open Project – pick jwl – happy camper.

Jim,

So there is no way in the 2009 Ultimate edition to make it default to opening the full blown label creator, correct?

Is there a way to make a text box allow you to use the enter key to start a new line without exiting the text box?

Thanks,
Don

Full Blown??? In Creator 2010 you have to go out of your way to use Express Labeler!

EVERY Home tab offers Create: Create Labels – Advanced. And from the Start – All Programs you can only reach Label Creator.

Likewise Ctrl-Enter issues a Carriage Return and Line Feed. Pretty much standard for every Windows program that has Text Boxes that allow direct editing. (Excel uses Alt-Enter for its' Cells but Shift-Enter OR Ctrl-Enter within a Text Box...)

You need to poke around a little, lots of good stuff in there. It would really be nice if they had a default for opening that you could set...

LOL, Now there is a DoH! moment for you. I guess I have gotten so frustrated with having to jump through hoops that I never tried that.
I'm well aware of Ctrl+Enter, so that is my own stupidity.

Yes it would be nice if you could set some defaults. (Default Template, Default Program, etc...)

Poking around to try and figure things out is what has caused all the frustration. Especially when, while poking around, you realize the options you really want aren't there.

Thanks for the help, I'll try and control my ranting.

It can be frustrating!!! ohmy.gif

Don’t get too worked up before stopping in here and asking. The regulars here don’t work for Roxio but someone is usually trolling through here all day long.

I’m going to make breakfast now, been up since 0530 cool.gif

I don't know if you will get this since the post is over a month old, but this might answer your question. The blue lines seem to be just a quirk of Roxio when you use a lightscribe disk and certain variables are present. Once you open lable creater and the blue lines are there, choose another printer besides a lightscribe disk. Be patient, it takes a while for this to happen. Once the other printer is completely selected, close lable creater. The next time you open label creater the blue lines should be gone. The problem happens when you close label creater with the lightscribe drive selected as your printer.

Hope this works for you.

The blue lines shown in that screen shot is a specific label designed for Lightscribe TEXT ONLY labels. I know that isn't clear. All you need to do is choose ANY other label design or create your own with a full label. Then just 'print' to Lightscribe.

Covered that solution a long time ago – Here

I thought he was complaining because he opened to the two blue lines. That's a really detailed explanation. Very Good. I don't get on this very often and didn't see that. The last time was about a year ago, and I probably wouldn't this time, but I bought the 2010 version and was wondering why it wouldn't open an older label and was looking at everything that mentioned label creater. I did find out why and I guess I'll have to reinstall ver 9. My fault for not leaving it until I found out if I liked 2010.
