I went out there myself to try this feature. I navigated successfully to the section noted above but when I click on the Add Source: Web Video a screen comes up that says "Laucn your web browser to start viewing and downloading web video", all buttons but the Cancel are greyed out. I open IE (ver 7) and can successfully navigate web pages so I don't know what's going on. Any suggestions? Thanks

Yes. And just to make sure I closed out of Roxio completly, opened Youtube in IE (just as a test), re-started Roxio and it still shows me the blank screen asking me to open IE. Could something bad happened on the install? I did burn a DVD from a video on my hard drive earlier today. Thanks.

Are you running IE7? I thought I read somewhere that WebCapture requires IE8?

I'm not sure about IE8 but it does require WMP 10, 11 or 12.
How long did you wait when you got the message to please open the browser? Had you selected a video and put it on pause?
I just tried it using these instructions was able to capture a YouTube video with no problems. What did you chose as an output - I used video and chose to save it to a file/folder.
Now if someone can tell me how to remove the downloaded video, I would be grateful.

I just found out the IE8 64bit can't work with youtube as Adobe has no compatible flash player for it. Had to use the 32bit version. I was able to capture very easily a 5 minute video and convert to mpeg quickly as well.

Hmmm, the first 3 times with only 1 web video selected, it did not pop up but after I added 2 more, they now keep showing in the source pop up window. I tried deleting cache in IE8 but that did no good but the options button does show the cache directory which I also deleted and then C&C crashed. Upon start up again, three were still there so Steve is correct.......they won't die. Even shutting down Roxio Home screen does no good.
But, eventually I found where they are. If you close the popup and then click on 'Movies' under Source, it shows the temp directory where the videos are kept. You have to go there to delete them. They are under C:\Users\'username'\Videos\VccTempVideo. Once you do that, they are dead.
This should be easier to do.

I have IE 7 and it does seem to work but it's erratic. Does it perform better with IE 8? Even following the instruction link above it still does not work flawlessly each time. Any suggestions?

My only problem is still removing the videos from the add videos pop up window. They keep coming back.

Here's a weird one. I've experienced times where some videos just won't download or picked up by the Video Copy and Convert. It takes some and others it doesn't and I try several times. Again I am using IE7 but why would it allow me to download some and not others?

Some sites are obviously able to block content from being copied. The new version of flash can do this but I can't say that's the reason. Since it's not really suppose to work with IE7, that could be it as well. I know very little about this myself.

I am running IE8. I click on Web Video and have tried opening a new browser and playing a video from You tube as wel as playing a video from an already open browser. Neither works. The Roxio screen stays grey and does not recognize or pick anything up that has played. What am I doing wrong?
I have also tried non You Tube and still nothing. Specifically the site I am trying to access is
http://filmehd.net/mikey-mouse-clubhouse-e...-in-romana.html
it is free episodes of the mickey mouse clubhouse in Romanian for my two year old. They have been impossible to find to buy and this is my only hope. If you click on any one of the Mickey's Treat (there are different episodes, i.e., Ep 6, Ep 7, etc) the video begins to play. From what I have seen of the online tutorial, this is all you need to do to have it show up on the grey screen and start downloading.
Any help any one can offer is greatly appreciated.

They are now enforcing their Terms of Use HERE which say you are not allowed to download and/or store their FLV files and that you are allowed to access "user submissions" [the FLV files] only through the YouTube software, and only by "streaming" them [viewing them realtime as they come from YouTube.]
In the last week or two they have changed their FLV format, and as a result any freshly downloaded files will no longer play or be read by a lot of popular software.

Thank you! I have now tried using another site (non You Tube) and it is still not recognizing anything. Any suggestions?
I guess I should ask--must the whole video play on the web browser before Roxio will recognize it? It is still in the process of playing but it is about 26 minutes and do not want to waste more time just waiting. I have already spent close to 4 hours trying to work this thing and getting to my wits end.
