Hi all,

Please help me if you can. I have Roxio Creator 2009. It came packaged with a Roxio VideoCapture USB. I loaded the software and used the Video Capture USB to transfer casette tapes to my computer. Every couple uses, however, the the video capture USB doesn't recognize the input adio signal. I saw on the Roxio trobleshooting website that is a known issue. I downloaded Service Pack 4 and the Video Capture worked for awhile if I used a particular USB port on my computer. I had to used that USB port--no other. Now it doesn't work again in any USB port. I tried to install Service pack 4 again, but it tells me the most current version is already installed. I'm under time pressure to get these casette tapes transferred, so this is quite annoying. Any ideas?
Thanks!
John

You don’t need any device to capture Audio… Plug it into you computers Line In or in a pinch, Microphone and use that.

Thanks for your reply. If I go out and buy a cable that will reduce my RCA jacks to one connector that I plug into my input, will I lose stereo? I guess not since headphones work the same way. I can do that. However, it's annoying that the Roxio device is not working consistenlty since I bought it for this purpose. I've followed all the instructions for setting it up properly in knowledge base article 2225CR (Resolving Common Capture problems with the Roxio Video Capture UBS device), but I still have problems with the Capture device consistently recognizing the audio input.

Well I do agree that it should… How much trouble shooting do you want to do with it?

The USB Capture device is hardware and I am a little concerned that it may have failed. – never heard of that happening, but someone has to be first laugh.gif

Could be as simple as bad cable or connection. Do you have another RCA cable you can try?

Easy to test! Capture some video in Stereo! VHS – DVD – camcorder – TV output, anything with video & stereo. Does it work???

The intermittent failure does make me wonder if your PC power supply is minimal and sometimes is overtaxed? The device requires power to work, and if your PC is having a ‘brownout’ it may not be enough to keep it running…

Try recording audio with everything disconnected that you possibly can.

List your PC specs like I have in my signature, too. Might be some help.

Make sure that, if you want to use the USB device, that you plug it into a USB port on the back of your computer and never plug it into a hub.
