I just downloaded Creator 10. I have never had any other roxio products on this computer before. I am running XP pro. I have disabled all startup items and made sure that the virus software has been disabled. I am up to date on direct-X and media player. When I go to install this product, I see a DOS window come up for a second, it goes away, and then nothing.
Any ideas on what to try next?

I'm going to assume you have Easy Media Creator 2010 (there is an EMC10 which is an older version - about 2 or more years ago)
Open the downloaded files with winrar or winzip and extract those to a temp polder. From the first (program) run setup.exe and then do the same with the second (content)
If they fail to extract, you have a corrupt download
