In Roxio 10, I can't copy to a blank DVD. Roxio gives message that the DVD is not blank, tho it is brand new and blank.
I can copy discs to these DVD's, but not the Disc Image.
My DVD drive is aNEC DVD_RW ND-3500AG, firmware version 2.16. The DVD's are Memorex DVD+R 16X, 4.7gb.

Please HELP.

Do you have Creator 2010 or the “Roxio 10” which has been out of production for years?

Need to know your PC Operating System and the specific Roxio Program you are referring to as well as the step by step description of how you get there.

Check here - from what I can see your drive doesn't recognise Memorex 16x +R discs

The programme is MY DVD 10 Premier v 10.1, running on a home built PC, with WIN XP.

The "Copy Disc" in My DVD works OK with these discs, it's just the "Burn Image" that rejects them.

What application are you using to copy the ISO file?  Where did you get it?
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

PC  Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Laptop - Windows 7 Home

Sorry, what ISO file?
The disc image files have been created by My DVD 10 Premier, by me on my PC, from my home produced original disc, and have the suffix".gi"
I bought it on line from Roxio.
The "Burn Image" function was burning discs (Memorex DVD+R)  ok, but then , with no change in anything that I am aware of, I just kept getting the "insert blank DVD " message, and when I did so, the message came back and the new, blank disc was ejected.

I repeat, these discs are being burnt successfully in "Copy Disc", in the same software, but it takes longer.

I would just like to get the Burn Image function working properly again.

Not all disc's in a 50pk are created equal!

Is there a difference in X burn speed from one program to the other?

Try slowing the burn speed down, try a different disc..

Next time out buy Verbatim..

A disc image file is also known as a ISO file for video.  There are several different file types.  You have a "gi" file aka global image file.  I don't see that listed as a supported file type in EMC 10 which is also probably true for MyDVD 10.  Supported types are:

Recordable media formats:
Disc image: ISO, C2D, and BIN/CUE (From Kb article on EMC 10)

My DVD may be different but ... You made the gi file with MyDVD 10?  Ifr the discs are not the problem, then Copy Disc may be the only way to do it.

OK but the discs rejected under "Burn Image" worked perfectly in Copy Disc.

No difference in burn speed.

I've just updated the PX engine, so let's see waht difference that makes.

I'm thinking of going the whole way, and getting Taiyo Yudens, ony about 10p. each more costly, and a lot more reliable, so I hear.

Thanks for all the comments, everyone.
