I have numerous music CD Jewel Case files (ext: .jwl) made with ealrlier versions of Easy CD Creator. Can I access and use these files in Creator 2010? For example, if I copy one of my earlier music compilation CD's. can I print out the jewel case from the old file?

No, because I haven't upgraded the software yet. However, the point appears moot because when I opened the Jewel Case (folder which my wife carefully transferred over when she upgraded to Vista), it was completely empty; all .jwl files vanished. Does this mean that Vista does not support this extention? I don't know. As it stands it sems my only option is to scan the pysical case inserts to Jpg files - what a pain!

You mean you don't even see the jwl files using Windows Explorer? If yes, then the transfer was not done "carefully".
BTW, Vista has nothing to do with jwl files, they are Roxi/Sonic project files.

Compatibility with earlier versions is limited… (Brendon seems to keep this in his head but it flies out of mine laugh.gif )

I think(?) 2009 and EMC 10.1 are good. But EMC 10.0 or anything else are not… Edit: Corrected!

Label Creator 2010 will use .JWL files from Easy Media Creator 10.1 or Creator 2009, but nothing else.
The backward compatibility was broken when the software switched from EMC 10.0 to EMC 10.1

I blame it all on Global Warming / Global Cooling / Global Staying the Same [pick one]

I had the same question, I have a large number of v6 .JWL files that v10 doesn't like. My work around was to load the label maker aspect of v6 (actually I deleted everything from v6 but label maker and photosuite 5 which has features that v10 does not--. V10 seems quite content to share space with what's left of v6.. and I can access when needed old .JWL files.

Actually, a number of the earlier versions of JCC and Labelmaker will work quite well without being installed. You just copy their folders from a backup and drop them onto your hard drive, and then make a desktop shortcut to the executable file.

I have CDLabel.exe from version 5 working happily in my Windows 7 system like that.
