Hello,

I have a Matshita SW-9585 DVD-RAM and ECDC 5 is saying that no supported DVD recorders were detected on my system. Is this DVD recorder unsupported in ECDC 5 Platinum? I have patched ECDC to 5.3.5.10v.

Thanks,
Scott

No, I do see a MATSHITA DVD-RAM SW-9583S supported...

There is a fellow that might be able to help with a registry edit.

He's on holiday chasing Kangaroo's until early October.

I'll forward him your post and hopefully he will stop in soon and help..

The last Drive-Up patch "5.3.5.10v" to support newer burners was December 15, 2004. If your burner is newer than that  you probably out of luck.

You do realize that ECDC 5 would only burn Data DVD's.(its over 9years old).

Why don't you get yourself some newer software or wait till the resident guru gets back in

Oct,

I only want to use ECDC 5 for burning data. I also own Easy Media Creator 10, but like the simplicity of using ECDC 5

No, the user interface. I have people who need to burn data and have weak computer skills.

Then use the built in burning capabilities of XP/Vista.

Okay Scott,

If you're still here and haven't been chased off by the others, I've just got back from Australia so how can I help.

Your Matshita SW-9585 DVD-RAM isn't supported by Easy CD Creator 5.3.5v, but the SW-9583 and the SW-9583D were supported from version 5.3.5p onwards.

I think ECDC could be made to recognize your drive with a registry edit which will change one of the other registry entries.  Are you game to try that?
P4 @3.20GHz on Albatron PX-865PE Pro II with 2GB DDR-SDRAM, FX5900XT video, Viewsonic monitors,
BENQ DW1640, in XP Pro and Windows 7

I blame it all on Global Warming / Global Cooling / Global Staying the Same  [pick one]
