My Father-in-Law is using Roxio Easy Creator 8.X SE that he had gotten with his sony r/w dvd rom. For awhile we could not get his read write to keep from becoming read only. Good news, we figured out that problem, Bad News, a new problem has arisen. it will allow him to put file on and take files off of the dvd-rw, but now his files are now becoming read-only, and it will not let him save it under the original file. i have looked into the properties, and tried unchecking the archive box and that does work.

I have gone through the entire program and help files and still nothing. I have gone to other tech sites and they all pretty much say the same thing, " use a jump/flash drive". My father-in-Law does not want to use a jumpdrive so i am here looking for some information. Could it be a setting that i have somehow over looked?

does anyone have any insight to this problem?

Thanks in advance

I don't quite understand what you are asking or where the problems is? Files on a RW disc are always read only since they can never be overwritten.
Of course if you are using something called Drag-to-disc all bets are off. That program no longer is no longer available on newer Roxio versions and is not recommended at all for storage.
