I am starting to create my own custom overlays and backgrounds, but keep having problems getting the correct sizes for both 4:3 and 16:9 formats. If anyone can post it quick, that would be great.
Also, is it possible to resize all photos in the production at once or does it have to be done individually? When I make my overlay cutout, I need them to fit the photos and not cut out half the pictures or faces. I have tried various Slideshows as templates and found the vintage one to be good.
Speaking of which- once I tried to slightly alter a "collage" photoshow to add videos to it, etc. it looked really good. I am wondering how one would go about setting it up without using the slideshow....that all the photos enter exactly that spot on the screen and at that particular size. In simpler terms- I want to set up my own collage where pictures are automatically entered into that particular frame (overlay 1), another particular frame (overlay 2), etc... and are the correct size. Any advice?

Overlay sizes: Try 720 x 540 for 4:3 and 960 x 540 or 1280 x 720 for 16:9.
Resizing to fit overlays: I played with a workaround for the TV overscan area, and it uses the overlays in Slideshow Assistant as a guide to downsize the images just enough so that they fit inside the overlay; that might work for what you are doing as well. Method is described here (link) in the Tips and Tricks forum.
I don't use photoshow so I'm not familiar with collages in that program. Maybe someone else will drop in and offer their thoughts on your questions as well.
Disclaimer: Many of the Gurus dissuade users from creating productions with the Slideshow Assitant. Since you seem to be using it already without problems, this method may work for you, but others should be aware that Sideshow Assistant can cause problems.

I would rather do it on my own than use slideshow assistant, but unfortunately I have 2 little ones that limit my time in playing around. Hence the questions for some quick fixes instead of me figuring it all out alone! thanks for the sizes!!! It helps alot!
