I started out with V2D version and with the Audio/Video Capture and Output and it worked well; then I purchased the Roxio product Creator 2009 and not get it to work. Then I purchased a new laptop that came with the Roxio Creator 10 Premeire Ultimate after I continued to have issues and concerned about when I upgrade to Windows 7 what additional problems would popup. Now, I have given up on all of the other versions and Just purchased a version of Roxio Creator 2010 Pro that I have read that this version works with Windows 7. My question is what problems should I be aware of before I install Creator 2010 Pro on my laptop. I welcome any suggestions on how to properly install this version so that I could finally enjoy the software as intended .

On your new laptop, I suggest you wait till Win 7 comes out (Not to long now--Oct 22nd) and upgrade to it. Then after that is installed and running correctly, install Roxio C2010 Pro. And My suggestion also is to NOT install other earlier versions of Roxio, especially VHS2DVD. Your C2010 Pro will do everything you want, including what VHStoDVD has to offer. You might look to see if .NET 3.5 SP1 has been installed on your new laptop. If not, when you install C2010 Pro it will automatically install it for you.

And the USB Capture device that came with V2D should work just fine with C2010, too.

To utilize the Roxio Video Capture USB device with Win7, you will still need to install a driver – no OS has one for it!
Simply download and run this file – Here
Do not let Windows do it for you!!!

Correct. VHS to DVD is a stripped down version of Creator.
VHS to DVD 2009 was released after Creator 2009. You may just need to install the latest Service pack to get things working. I know there were a lot of issues that addressed video capture. If it doesn't download automatically through Check for Updates you can grab it from here
