Hi gang, I'm trying to import some old home movies onto my computer before the VHS wears out. I bought the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD package and a VCR (I forgot those things had existed). The Roxio does a good job of converting my movies to MPG, and then converting it to MP4 for Quicktime to read, but when I try to send it to iMovie '09 an Error -5000 pops up. I've tried converting the video to .mov and to two different types of H.264 using ffmpeg (I don't know enough about video compression to know what the heck I'm talking about...I just know I did it), and the H.264 is apparently something iMovie recognizes, because it's at least not greyed out in the Import dialog in iMovie. But when I import it, the status bar pops up, goes really fast, and then nothing happens. SO, having said all that, does anyone have any better advice for me? Thanks a lot.

Have up downloaded and installed version 1.0.3 of Easy VHS to DVD Capture for Mac?
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

What application is generating that error, iMovie or Easy VHS to DVD Capture?

If you try a sample 1 minute capture, does that also happen?

The error appears in Easy VHS to DVD Capture, when I click the Edit in iMovie icon. The error message, "The last operation could not be completed because an error of type -5000 occured." It happens with a 2 hour capture as well as a 2 minute capture, and I just tried it with a 6 second capture and it happened again. Also, the saved .mpg file can't be imported to iMovie manually; it is greyed out in the Import dialog. It is also greyed out if I convert it to a .mov file. Converting it to .mp4 makes it black, but when I try to import, it doesn't import.
