I had purchased Roxio VHS to DVD to copy many VHS tapes. After installing, I discovered a card stating that if you had Roxio Creator 2009 to not install but to install the USB drivers from the web site. I then unstalled VHS to DVD and installed the drivers from the web site. Then I hooked up my JVC Digial Video Camera for a test run (easier to test on before moving VHS player in office). Video is fine but I get this wop, wop, wop (very loud, sounds like a helicopter) sound out of the left speaker that is picked up on the DVD. I tried changed the white and red cables. If I unplug the cable from camera, sound it still there. I read about service pack 4 and when I went to install it could not find my Roxio Creator 2009, so I went back and reinstalled it and then the service pack. Still getting wop, wop, wop. I am using Vista. If anyone can help it would really help.

Thank you,
jnemo

There are two possibilities. One is that you do not use the USB device with a digital camcorder. You need to use a Firewire connection. If you don't have one, you will need to use the capture software to capture the video. The Roxio program sees your camera as a web camera and therefore would not capture any audio. You may be begetting some kind of crazy feedback. You shortcut to not using the VHS may be part of the problem.

What sound card do you have? Are the drivers for it up to date? I had that problem once and found that it was my audio set up and all I had to do was make a few adjustments. That was with XP so I can't tell you how to do it in Vista.

Thanks for the reply. I am thinking to go ahead and hook up the VHS and try it. I have Realtek sound card.
