I have Creator 2010 and I am having difficulties burning a DVD.  I can create an .iso file no problem.  I can view the .iso file.  When I try to burn the DVD using the .iso file I get an unusual error.

sense 03 ASC:80 ASCQ:04 (Command 2A)

The details section informs me that my DVD is copy protected.  How a blank DVD+R disc can be copy protected is beyond me.  Any suggestions on how to proceed?

How big is that iso file? Have you tried burning with ImgBurn, a free burning utility.

The .iso file is just about 4G, should fit on a disc, in fact the burning utility in Creator 2010 indicates it will fit.
I purchased Creator 2010 so I would not have to search the net for various "free" utilities.

99.9% of sense errors are caused by the burner/type of media.

By using the ImgBurn you would prove that.

Sense 03 is a Read error reported by the burner drive.

I can't decipher ASC:80 ASCQ: 04 for you, because all ASC or ASCQ codes 80h through FFh are vendor specific and only your drive manufacturer/vendor will know what that code means on this particular drive.

Tried cleaning the DVD burner with a cleaning duster "air" bottle.  Switched to a DVD-R media.  Still get the same error.
The ISO image will not burn and using burn option from MyDVD.  I never would have thought that burning a DVD with a legitimate purchased program would be so difficult.

Have you looked at updating the firmware for your CD/DVD drive? You might as well check for PC bios updates while you are at it.

What are your PC specs and what OS are you runnning?

That error is hardware related and not down to th application. No matter what program you use a hardware error will remain and it could well be that your drive is faulty and neds replavement

I went to the Dell site and downloaded all the updated drivers for all the drives on my computer.  Turned out there were upgraded drivers for many items on my computer (3 years old).  After installing all the upgraded drivers, which included one for my DVD burner, everything magically began working correctly.  I could use ImgBrn and Roxio to burn DVD's.  No more cryptic error messages that gave few clues how to resolve.  What was confounding and confusing it that I had used the DVD burner initially to make some data backup DVDs and that had worked fine.  Now a year or so later I tried using the DVD burner to make a movie DVD and got the original cryptic error messages.  Oh well the story has a happy ending, with the lesson being one learned many times, use the latest drivers.

Drivers for your DVD Drive are Microsoft, came with the Operating System...

What Dell had for your Burner was a Firmware update..

Thank you, I stand corrected.  The story still had a happy ending and the moral is still much the same.  Use the latest drivers AND the latest firmware updates.  Thanks for the correction.
