I want to use the dissolve transition in one of my video clips. I select to apply the transition before the clip. I can reduce the duration of the dissolve effect but when I click on the plus button to increase the duration of the effect it won't let me increase the length. Where am I going wrong???

Assuming that you are working in VideoWave (you didn't say), make sure the clip or image or panel duration is longer than what you are trying to set the duration of the dissolve (both before and after). I just tried 10 seconds and had no problem. BTW, you can type in the length of the duration rather than to use the up and down arrows.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
