Hey all!
I'm looking at the Help file for editing chapters. Under Manual Editing it says:
4) If you are in Menu Edit view, and you want to create a submenu containing a button for each chapter, select the Generate chapter menu(s) and link to selected button check box.
Where in the world, is the Generate chapter menu(s)... checkbox? I've looked and looked. Seems to me I need the chapter's I created, the actual video chapters to show under the Movies Tab so I can align them with the Menu Tab items. That's just a guess since I'm just learning this but I thought I'd start with... where's that button at?
Tkx!!

Make sure you are in the Menu Project view; you should see the main menu page
Select the movie from the main menu page for which you want to add chapters
Then select Edit Chapters from the task panel.
The Edit Chapters window opens and you then set your chapters. The same window has the option to create the chapter menu.

>>The Edit Chapters window opens and you then set your chapters. The same window has the option to create the chapter menu.<<
Since I don't know what I'm looking for, this is where I'm confused. Again, per the Help window for this section I was looking for the Generate chapter menu(s) and link to selected button check box they speak of. I see it nowhere.
I "add" chapters just fine. They line up in the right column. I did about 6 chapters earlier for learning purposes. I clicked OK. Back on the Project View/Movies Tab I expected to see those chapters I selected (or a list). Only the movie file is there.
Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree. I thought the way it worked was... you have your main page with a title. On that page you create several chapter icons, any of which would take you to that chapter. I managed to get that far, but've no idea now how to "attach" each icon (so to speak) to the chapter spot I'd chosen.
It's not critical to my productions; I'd just like to know how to do it should it become necessary. Tkx so much!!

Ok, a couple things here that may help (I've also added screen shots that may make it more clear).
Your "Main Menu" you have two items. One is just a text description of what your video disc has on it (in my examples it's the tv show Top Chef). To that main menu you add "Movies" (sometimes referred to as titles). In my example, I have two episodes of the TV show.
Chapters are "markers" or points within a Movie that you can jump to. You can create menus and icons or text for the chapter points if you want to (not required). If you do, it will create a sub-menu(s) for each Movie with icons or text for each chapter point. You can then use those menus to navigate to a chapter point to start the Movie from. This is the same layout and behavior that you would see on a disc you buy or rent.
In order for the option to create chapter menu(s) (or update if you created the chapter menus already) you must be on the Menus tab in the Project View section. If you are on the Movies tab, the option is not available on the Edit Chapters window.
The chapter menu(s), icons or text for each chapter an the navigation buttons will be created automatically. You do not "attach" them manually, the edit chapters function does it for you.
Hope that helps.

DO NOT choose the Movie Tab for editing chapters. The 'Generate Submenu' option is not there.

Tkx guys, I think I've got it. I was confused as to how the tree/menu worked. I see I have to right-click the lowest menu item after havivng loaded a production, in the Menu Tab.
It seems we can load only three buttons per screen too. That threw me a bit too. Anyway, I do see the option now and all appears like it's up to my own creativity
.
Tkx for all help, mean it! Great forum!!

No, you still have not gotten it completely
You can also click the "Title" on the menu page and the "Edit Chapters" button becomes enabled or right click the "Title" on the menu page for a drop-down menu that shows the "Edit Chapters" option.
The number of buttons available is not limited to three but is definded by which menu style you have selected.
