You had been working in VideoWave so I am assuming you saved a VW Project (dmsm file)
After a reboot, open MyDVD from the Home app Video Menu – Create DVD
Select Add Movie and point it to the VW dmsm Project file.
Hopefully that will work for you.

List your computer specs, especially video card.
Do a simple project for testing. In videowave, add some jpeg image files, add some transitions and then use Export As to ouput to DVD mpeg, best quality. Do you get the "not responding message"?

My previous response was to make sure you were doing things the right way and to confirm the program error, which it did
What Walt is suggesting with farther refine the troubleshooting process, and from there we should be able to give you a solution.
Don’t wait weeks this time

If you look at my signature block, you will see I have a Dell 530 too and mine came with a chipset instead of a real Video Card.
You will also note I replaced it!
You may be able to get by, mine never threw any errors, just didn’t render properly… Walt suggested a simple test, but I will go one better and suggest you run the Repair option for Roxio before you do the test.
