When I try to rip CD tracks to a selected file, I sometimes, not always, receive an error message that states that I cannot rip to the selected file. When that occurs, I can rip only directly onto C drive. Anyone solved this problem?

Are you trying to rip to  a file or to a folder.  Perhaps the file already exists. If to a folder, is it a protected folder (read only)?  Use Windows to find out.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

I don't understand. When you rip,a file is created in whatever format you choose and saved where you also choose.
What do you mean "rip tracks to a selected file"?
The file name is automatically chosen to be the actual name of the track unless you change it.
If you change it you need to make it a unique name, not one that's already on your computer.Unless you're going to overwrite the one that already exists.
