Is there a way to convert MPEG 4 file to 2 by using toast? I can't seem to do it. By the way the title of this post is wrong!

Thanks!

Choose DVD video as your format, add the MPEG 4 video and choose Save as Disc Image. Toast will encode the mpeg 2 video as part of creating the disc image.

What you'll end up with are a couple ways to get what you want. In the Roxio Converted Items folder (by default in your Documents folder) you'll see Toast creating both an .m2v video and .ac3 audio stream. Muxed together using MPEG Streamclip you'd have an MPEG 2 program stream file.

The other option is to mount the disc image and then choose DVD with the top button of the Toast Media Browser. Use the browser to access the video titles on the disc image. Drag the titles you want to the Toast Video or Convert windows. Toast then converts the VOBs from the VIDEO_TS folder in the disc image to an .mpg file in the Roxio Converted Items folder.

Note: Toast automatically empties the converted items folder by default when you quit Toast. You can change this default in Toast preferences.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!
