Well after numerous wipe-outs and re-loads, attempts to get this stupid thing to work is fruitless. I have given up! Captures great, don't burn for crap! Whatever errors it has, it cannot fix them, and support for this is EXTREMELY TERRIBLE!

Not even my other program can get the video to burn, always errors burning or not burning at all! I am tired of wasting dvd's and I have tried at least 5 different brands of dvd's - still the same result, CRAP! doesn't matter what I have done, it just does not want to co-operate.

well there's $60.00 down the drain

It is NOT my computer.

I only got 5 dvd's to work out of an attempted 20 burns and since then it has crapped out on me every time.

Doesn't work when you have all the latest updates, WMP11, SP3, instead you have to install everything under SP2 and have WMP10 (which, by the way will not let you use sound clips from WMP10, funny, it did before!), it will not recognize the hardware/software or install updates if you are past SP2!

If this was soooo good, why won't it work with updated computer???

Until Roxio can update or upgrade this hardware/software, I will not use nor recommend this to anyone else

Very Dissappointed.

Hi Tony -

I'm sorry the folks on the forum couldn't help you out. Looks like you have tried just about everything.

I wasn't able to find any support incidents under your forum registered e-mail address in our system. Can you let me know what what your ticket number is so I can have a look to make sure the agents attempted to trouble shoot your problem appropriately?

Thanks,

Jon

It seems to me that if you made 5 successful DVDs then the program is working properly and the problems is either with your projects or your "updated computer".

This is a quote from one of your other threads: "No big issue, everything works fine"

Yeah when it did work! Is was not the projects. You are stuck with SP2 and WMP10, without this, you cannot even register your product, or have it update because it is not recognized by whatever website they use for registration.

I do not know what happened, I have since done everything I could think of to get it to work to no avail.

I have even gone as far as swapping dvd drives and still the same problem.

I have even wiped out the computer and done everything under sp2 and STILL HAD PROBLEMS.

So for the very short time it worked is was good, but since then it has been nothing but a headache.

Are you able to layout your issues discreetly instead of "won't work" methodology. Perhaps, folks here can help you out. But again clearly provide error messages /info for each issue.

Yes! Tony, we are willing to work with you if that is what you want.

I don’t quite understand the “SP2” & “WMP10” part though???

Here is one of my old PCs with V2D as well as WMP9 running:

Only 1 error code was insistant 80004003, and I did everything humanly possible to alleviate this problem, even updated the PX engine and anything else I could find on this, still to no avail.

I even went as far as reconstructing my computer, did everything under SP2, WMP10 for what this thing called for, 1 dvd burner set to master, no other drives in computer, and it still would not work right.

NO other error messages or anything else that I know of.

I am tired of wasting my time and dvd's.

According to specs, you need WinXP SP2 and WMP10 for this to work, correct?

How does WMP9 got anything to do with this?

You, of all people should know the specs for this thing, do you understand now???

Have you tried following :

1. Uncheck Burn to disc option and try saving to a disc image
2. What brand and type of media are you using?

completely rebuilt my computer. Eliminated all RAID setups and went to a single HD of 80GB. Set my burner as SEC Master and dvd-rom as SEC slave. According to SONY, they insist that their brand dvd-rw should be master on SEC IDE. So shall it be done.

Problems: Capturing has no problems, works the way it should, as far as I can tell.

1) during encoding the video preview screen is either black or has a picture with circles in it and just says "encoding". I have the most latest video card driver available to me for my card, nVidia GeForce 7600GS 8x AGP. NOTE: This went away after uninstalling my NERO Software.

2) after capture, I go to MyDVD to burn. Will start encoding and burn but about halfway thru it still comes up with that dreaded 80004003 code. My mobo's bios (P4P800E-D) and burner (SONY DRU-720A) have the latest bios and firmware updates applied, cannot get around this bug no matter what I do. MyDVD will not complete project! I have even applied the PX Engine update to no avail. Do not know if this is a hardware setup issue or software issue.

3) After numerous fruitless attempts burning I tried the IMGBURN option and I don't believe it, it worked, but burned on a single layer dvd. A Memorex +R dvd was used.

4) My previous burns were all done on Memorex +R DL dvd's using either MyDVD or Nero6/7 successfully.

5) So are there problems with MyDVD that it cannot complete projects after capture? Is this due to a hardware or software issue? Apparently IMGBURN worked better that MyDVD, otherwise I would think this alternate method would not be mentioned here.

6) Does IMGBURN affect video quality burning on a single layed dvd?

7) I have seen and read that there are alot of issues related to installing, error codes, and burning. If MyDVD worked so good, there would not be any alternatives suggested to use and this site would not have the number of almost repetitive questions on problems that are quite numerous using this product.

8) I believe that better updates need to be implemented for this product or Roxio needs to go back and re-do some of the software for this product because it is apparent it has bugs. True that there may be "operator error" on the part of the user, but then other problems arise after installing or when being used.

9) The other problem I find is when loading this package on an updated computer (WMP11 or IE8 or SP3 for windows) you cannot get the product activation to work or the program update manager does not recognize the hardware or software. This is where I quit. You should not have to Clean Install on an older OS, it should work on whatever is installed in the computer. Granted that there are some basic minimum requirements because of the build date of this package, but you should not have to go back to an old OS setup to get everything to work.

10) When was this made and released? In other words How Old Is This Product? I think that this has alot to do with it's installation and operation.

UPDATE: Here is another quirk found with this software. When using MyDVD to burn 1) using a single layer dvd, I have encoding preview visible. 2) When using MyDVD to burn a dual layer dvd. there is NO encoding preview available. Does that make sense??? IMGBURN was not involve in this experiment. The sinlge layer dvd burn was successful I am waiting for results of DL DVD burn.

UPDATE: Results of DL burn, FAILED. 80004003 culprit strikes again!

I did this experiment with Nero as well and the exact same results, single dvd burn successful, DL burn, FAILED.

Quality of the good burns is o.k., it's keepable, but could be better. I see the difference on my good DL burns compared to the singles.

After rebuilding my computer quite a few times with different setups I was not able to get DL's to burn anymore with MyDVD, IMGBURN, or even Nero. It will do only singles now. I never had this problem before and now I can't get rid of the problem!

I am sorry I ever bought this RIP-OFF JUNK!!! I think I'll take my hammer to it, maybe afterwards it will work right!!! ROXIO S*CKS, I will NEVER buy another Roxio product ever again.
