I am currently running Creator 10 and thinking about upgrading to Creator Pro 2010. When I went to the Roxio site under Support/Software Upgrades, I noticed there were 2 price options. $79.99 if upgrade from Creator 2009 and $99.99 if upgrade from all other previous versions.
Can someone tell me what's the different between the 2? Will the upgrade not work if I pick "upgarde from Creator 2009" instead of "from all other previous versions"?
I have been wondering the same thing as newuser after I made my recent purchase. I noticed that the 'full' version of Creator 2010 is $99.99 ($79.99 after MIR). However, it is $59.99 if upgrading from Creator 2009, and $69.99 if upgrading from EMC10 or prior. Notice that these two prices are after instant rebates. Since I have EMC10, I chose that option and purchased the download option (no disk). There was nowhere during the purchase or installation where it confirmed to see if I had the previous version. I was thinking maybe it would ask me to log in to see if I have the previous version registered...or ask me for the product key of the previous version. The installation looks as if it is the retail/'full' version. If I go to Help->About, there is nothing showing that it is an upgrade. It's as if the upgrade and 'full' versions are identical...just the pricing is different, but how is Roxio even confirming this...or aren't they? I probably could have purchased the upgrade from Creator 2009 and saved some money. Same goes for new users too.
BTW, since these two upgrade prices are after instant rebates, firenhancer's statement above is incorrect...unless it was MIR's at the time of the posting.

If you clicked on the link, it sure looked like Firenhancer's statement was correct.

I did click on firenhancer's link to the rebate form. Where does it state that you need to attach proof of purchase for the previous version? Nowhere. That rebate form simply states it is "For owners of a retail (boxed or downloaded) version of Roxio Creator 2010." Also, how would that $20 rebate work when going from the $99.99 full price to the $59.99 upgrade price, or from $129.99 to $79.99 for the Pro version...which is a $40 or $50 difference?
If you actually go to the upgrade pricing page that newuser and I are talking about...you will see that it is $59.99 (or $79.99 for the Pro version) after a $40/$50 instant rebate (no mail-in rebate needed). (Here is the link to upgrade from Creator 2009: http://www.roxio.com/enu/upgrade_center/em...rs/default.html)
Like I said, maybe it was a mail-in rebate at the time firenhancer posted his reply and has been changed to an instant rebate since then.

This is the upgrade page you should be looking at.
Along the way your going to have to prove what version your upgrading from, maybe a previous registered CD Key??
