I am not familiar with the tree type progression of starting with a menu and developing the subchapters etc. I can pick a menu and add clips but I dont get how to arrange submenus. Iam a teacher wanting to develop 5 minute teaching segments that a studen can click on after piocking the main theme from the opening menu. I see info a bout menus etc in the help section bu being a nolvice I need step y step explanation of how to add to the tree

What you want to do (I think if I'm reading your through the typing errors), is not what this program is designed to do. If you have a main movie (title), you can select the title, and set the program to return to the main menu. BUT, if you make an select chapters from a title, you can select where to start but the "lessons" would continue to the end of the title.

To do what you want to do, each of the 5 minute segments would be a new title and shown on the main menu page or subsequent main menu pages (not in sub-menu).

Note - spell check is quick and will stop you from being chastised.

We had some fun with the Spelling/Grammar biggrin.gif

You could work up something like that…

Basically a Button is added each time you add a movie clip.

For this one I settled on 3 clips per page and having 11 clips I started by adding pages until I had 4 plus the Main page.

I then went to each page by clicking it in the Project View on the left and added the clips to that page.

I also played around with Text only buttons and found I could force all 11 on one Page. (could get navigation to work as I wanted)

A trick when you have an idea is to create a quick dirty MyDVD project and test it. I often use a single still picture to represent a “clip”.

I then set up my test project in mere minutes and burn it to a DVD RW.

You will find MyDVD does not allow large complex edits so you often have to start from scratch! By making simple tests with RW media you can lock in how you want to do it before you even start.

I either Save the test or take screen caps so I can refer to it later, like this one laugh.gif
