In VideoWave12 afetr having done SAVE of my project, I see that the VCGProxyFileManager process seems to do all the I/O's and takes a bit of cpu time around 30% VideoWave12.exe takes more cpu at around 45% while the save is being done, then I can hear and see that none or very little I/O's are being done by either process but VideoWave12.exe takes around 45% cpu and seems to be doing nothing. While this cpu time is high I cannot do anything in Roxio.
I've noticed this "delay" in other process and think it's always when "control" is being passed back VideoWave12.exe after doing something, even if it is just to Open an existing production.

I Have A Very Difficult Time Understanding Roxio2010 - I don't think Intuitive is a word that could describe it!
I am not a PC Numpty so feel free to use any technical jargon you like, but I hate TLA's (Three Letter Acronymns) that haven't been explained at least once in the same article.
Packard Bell iExtreme M3720
Intel Core Quad 2.5ghz
4gb Ram
64-bit Win7 Home Premium
4tb HDD fixed and removable

And???
I don’t see anything near these numbers (4% tops) but I would guess it is based on the performance of the PC you are running.
Hardware Render will bog down many PCs as well as the type of project and source files.
Provide some info.

OK - look, I'm new to this Roxio Product, and this forum for users to submit questions, so maybe cut me a little slack and not respond with seemingly facetious comments like "And???" making me feel like I'm a complete "drongo" for even suggesting such a thing.
Firstly, let me tell you I'm a 55yr old PC and Mainframe literate individual who runs a helpdesk of 12 people for a FTSE 100 company, so I don't expect responses to start with "And???" - you just make me feel an idiot. Then maybe this forum isn't really a helpdesk sort of thing in which case I apologise - but.......!
I know the value in sending back good observations, issues and recommendations for any product or problem but I'm not sure how I'm supposed to explain the symptoms I'm seeing.
Basically, having done an OPEN, or SAVE of a PRODUCTION in VideoWave12 (Roxio2010) containing maybe 150 photos and 6 videos (MOV and AVI around 50mb each), with sound effects for the full duration of the production (around 10 minutes) the system, and by that I mean ROXIO stops after it seems to have completed what it was asked to do.
My system is :-Windows XP Pro SP3, Dell Optiflex gx520, 3.35ghz, 4gb ram, no video card (so using onboard video which may be the problem).
If I'm supposed to live with what I don't understand or accept as reasonable performance without very good reason then maybe I have to look elsewhere for an explanation.

I’m 64 and I don’t work for Roxio and you are reading far more into it than could even be written in 3 letters…
I explained the reasons for your lack of performance but I wouldn’t expect a chip set to do that bad… My Dell 530 with a dual core runs circles around my P4 and that is with a chipset. Video – I added a low end card to it to resolve other problems with slides that you either haven’t noticed /encountered yet
Describe you Project in detail and compare it to something really small, like a 5 minute AVI file.
