I've just got a pack of 800 MB , 90 Min CD's and my regular burning software cannot burn them. Nor can the latest verion. I was wondering if this is possible with Creator 2010.

Basically i want to burn them as i would be 700MB CD's  i got them to make 90 MIn Audio CD's b ut using them for data would also be very good. I ask now because if the answer is no then i can save some money and look for another bit 3rd party software.

I don’t have any to test it with, but I would guess NO.

I opened Music Disc Creator and the drop box only goes to 80min discs.

In reality, 700mb/80min are still Audio CD Standards and the larger discs do not enjoy widespread compatibility with Players.

But I am not a Music Guru so some others may chime in with a solution

I don't have any to test either. Any Roxio Audio CD program I doubt would burn 90min 800 disc's being the Audio CD Standard is 74min 650mb 80min 700mb.

Creator Classic in Creator 2010 will burn data to 90min 790mb and 99min 870mb disc's tho..

No chance at audio (audio Cd or mp3 disc) but you can burn data to them with Creator Classic (Burn Data Disc Advanced).   Really, how much money will you be saving?

Thanks for the information Jim and Cd . Especially the bit about industry standard. The bit about Creator Classic is very interesting indeed.

Hi Sknis, let me explain a little more.
I have 3 audio files  which i listen to on my I-POD. All 3 are 90 mins. I have remove the useless bits and the start and end and now they are only a little shorted than 90mins. What i would like to do is burn them onto CD's  by splitting them into tracks. They would not loose much play time for that and certainly not 10 minutes !
That is why i splashed out on some 90 min CDs. It was my intention to split each of my 3 files into tracks but keep all of the tracks for each file together. That would at least mean that i can listen to each with jsut one CD. Rather than let each track spill over on to another 80 min CD.

I have looked at using Windows media player and that appears to be possible for data and audio using HIGHMAT (not sure of the spelling). This option appears to be available for me although i have yet to use it because my CD's are CDR and not CDRW . i hope i have explaiend myself.

So to answer your question Sknis  i coudl save myself a whole lot of messing around by burnign my 3 90 min audio files onto 90 mins audio CDs.

But you didn’t tell us about your Player??? Will it play mp3 or does it just do Audio CD?

You know mp3 are much more compressed, but you may not realize that they are also a Data Disc.

Whereas an Audio CD is a specific format and cannot be changed from that…

So IF your Player could do mp3, you could convert to mp3 and all 3 may fit on one disc.

No Jim. My reply about my mp3 player was for background. I currently listen to these 3 files on my mp3 player for obvious reasons. As i said in my first posting, "i got them to make 90 MIn Audio CD's ".

I can chop each of my 3 files into tracks , that is absolutely no problem. But i want to burning each file as a set of tracks as an audio CD. So 90 min CD's would seem ideal. I woudllike to listen to these files on my HiFi , that is why i would liek to produce them as 90 min Audio Cds.

Also interesting comment from "CD"  about having a player that can play them. So i may just risk testing one out tonight on just that point using WMP. If this works then creator classic may very well serve my needs.

What brand name and model # is that player? Will your 90min Audio CD's play on it?

And what software are you going to use to make the 90min Audio CD?

Well i may have inadvertantly scuppered myself here. originally i looked at Windows Media Player 9 and found a HIGHMAT setting which i was hoping to use. But since then i've upgraded to Windows media Player 11 and cannot find that darn setting or anthying similar , so for the moment i cant see if my HiFi or Portable CD payer can play these things. It looks like i'll need to do a seconary investigation into this.

I'll report back tomorow on the type of CD's i'm using.
