Can .dmsm files be combined? I.e. making a larger dmsm file from smaller ones...

I have a number of .dmsm files that represent a lot of editing and I'd like to combine some of them in to sort of a composite file.
I have loaded one .dmsm file and converted a second to a video format and added it as a video file (.mpg as I recall) and 'spliced' them that way, but that's kinda of a cumbersome way, not to mention very time consuming, to do it.
Is there a better way?
Thanks,
Tangle

Check out this post that provides steps to combine multiple dmsm files. The process is still cumbersome but allows you to do some more editing.

Many thanks malatekid. I looked through this forum before I posted, but I would have never thought to look there.
Seems like I tried the A, B, C, copy/paste method and couldn't get it to work, but I don't think I did it quite right. I'll give it another try.
Thanks,

Combine a small segment from each dmsm first and see how it works.

It can be done but it is not pretty…
In VW add your first dmsm.
To add the next, choose Add Photo/Video and manually type in the full name and extension – xxxxxx xx xxxx.dmsm
It will ask if you where you want it and bring it in. What is not pretty is in Storeline, you cannot tell they are there, other than the Scrubber will locate on one.
In this view both 2 and 3 have had a dmsm added but 4 is empty:

You can right click them and read Properties.
In Timeline if you adjust the time bar, you can see them:

The biggest thing wrong with this is that Roxio might fix this ’flaw’ someday without replacing the benefit of using it

This tip should be pinned as a "How To", and enhancement should be made to add dmsm as one of the selectable file types.
