Hi,

i've finished my project and I'd like to save it in another format (wmv) but the option to "output as" is greyed out and will not allow me to select it. Is there something else I need to do first? I have 2 projects...one is video and the other is a slideshow.

Thanks

i'm using mydvd. I'e also tried with videowave. The video project was created with videowave and then saved and burned to dvd with mydvd. The slideshow was created with mydvd. All i want to do is save in mwv format.

ONLY VideoWave has an Export As that can be used to output a Project into another format.

MyDVD is an Authoring tool that makes DVD’s and if the plug-in is present, Blu-ray discs.

I see 2 ways to get to WMV from where you are… Of course using VideoWave.

But if your file consists of more than one clip, you would be better off using the DVD Movie disc from MyDVD and Video Copy and Convert. Select the Output you want, then add your DVD to it.

When in myDVD, select the movie then "Edit Movie" and then "Export As"

Select the movie/slideshow from the main menu page then Edit Movie will be enabled.

not sure what i'm doing wrong here. i'm selecting the slideshow. i see the main menue. but edit movie is still not available. i was able to select the MOVIES tab under PROJECT VIEW and right-click the movie thern select EDIT MOVIE...... but that brought up the SKIDESHOW ASSISTANT. all i can do theer is add photos or edit the audio. there is not export option.

You have to right click on the menu button. Edit Movei will take you to a partial version of VideoWave.

However it will only Export just that one movie or slideshow associated with that button…

If that is all you have or want, then you are good to go. If you have more in the MyDVD Project then it will require a different solution.

Sorry, if you used the slide show wizard, there is no way to output that to a file in MyDVD. Selecting Edit Movie just brings you back to the Slideshow wizard. You will have to re-do the slideshow in Videowave. There is a method to our madness. LOL There are many reasons why we suggest starting with Videowave FIRST.

So whether i'm creating a video or slideshow (or combination) I should always start with videowave? When I'm ready to burn to a dvd, should I switch to mydvd? Will mydvd open videowave files?

I appreciate all your help

After you finished creating your slideshow/video in Videowave, save the project as a dmsm files
Now if you only want to a create a video file that you can play on your computer, simply select "Export As" and ouput to a video file in your selected video format.
If you want to create a DVD then launch myDVD and using Add Movie, add the dmsm project file and continue. myDVD will also accept a video file you have created in Videwave
