All I want to do is take a snippet from a YouTube tape -- you know the one where Schwarzenegger says:"I'll be back" and put it into my Facebook video message. But I can't seem to do this without converting any number of extentions: .dat, .vcfp...whatever, none of which seem to be listed in the Facebook format.
Can this be done with Roxio Creator 2010?

Youtube = .FLV
Facebook = .mp4
With Roxio Creator 2010, you can capture the desired video from Youtube (.flv), Edit desired footage and export it to .mp4 format to be uploaded to Facebook.
Hope the above helps.

You make it sound so easy. I have no problem getting the YouTube. Then 2010 asks me if I want to save my project. I think, yes. How else do I get my project to the edit function. However, when 2010 saves my file it now becomes a .vcpf extention. When I open up the "Edit Video - Automatically" function it asks me to "Add Video/Photos..." I do. When I finish editing my film, 2010 asks me to click on an "output" option. Do I click on "Save this Project" , or click on "Share online", or "Create Video file" in order to post it of Facebook?
When I click on "Create Video file" I get this stupid drop film with my project in the middle. When I finally post the project to Facebook, it looks geat, but the audio is lost. Is there any real written instructions with this software?
Thanks for your help.

You are using the wrong choice for editing your video. The Edit Video - Automatically (a.k.a Cinemagic) removes all native audio as it's design is to create a 'highlight' type end result.
Instead you need to use the Edit Video - Advanced (a.k.a. Videowave) choice.
