I have purchased and installed EMC 8 on an Athlon XP 1800+ system running Windows XP Pro SP2, with 512MB ram and an Aopen DVD burner # DUW1616L.

When I try to burn any video to DVD I receive the following error;

80004005 Error While Encoding Movie.

I tried the auto update for the program and none were found. When I checked mamually the update listed is an update to build 805B30B, which is my current build. Checking the forum for EMC listed a Hotfix for this error message which I downloaded and installed.

Still have the problem.

Help

Update;

I tried creating an image file, and still got the error message.....

I have the same problem. There is a hotfix, but that does not work for me. In fact it caused me more problems. I have gone back to version 7.5, but am disappointed that there is no update or fix available.

Try 'send to my dvd' instead of 'burning it using my dvd'

File>Send to My DVD

Clicking the 'burn with my dvd express' icon at the top AND File>Burn With My Dvd Express
were both giving me errors, but when I clicked File then selected 'Send to My Dvd' I had no problems
Dell XPS 9000
i7 920 2.66
GTX 260 1792mb
(2) Samsung 640 hd
Realtek integrated hd audio
Windows 7

One time I got this error when the clip I had entered into the project was not available at burn time. [It was on an external drive that I had forgotten to turn on.]
