Please Help VHS to DVD Help wanted

Thought I would try on another computer - that won't even read the disk.
All I want to do is transfer some old home videos to dvd for my Mother for Christmas. I am computer literate yet this is driving me crazy. From reading other reviews I think I have totally wasted my hard earned money on the product.
Has anyone else been through the same thing and found a resolution

Open the software, click on Help/About, and see if you already have SP 2 installed.

Thanks. Did that and have got SP2 installed. Have tried all the suggestions in the pinned messages and stlll nothing. I have tried numerous videos of different quality and none work. Have checked the video player and that is ok. Think I will bin Roxio and try something else.

Could you describe exactly what you are doing? Have you already captured the video to your hard drive?
What do you mean by " I have tried numerous videos of different quality and none work"?
How have you connected your VHS recorder to the Roxio USB device?
There is very little information in your posts to work with.

I have installed the software, connected the video player to the computer (tried 2 different computers - laptop and desktop). I am using the Composite video connectors (yellow/red/white) connection. I open Roxio and have tried both plug and burn and capture video. I play the video but get no signal or the capture video button greyed out.
I have tried different quality videos as someone said if the video wasn't any good it might not record. I have also tried 2 different sets of leads.
My computer recognises Roxio but doesn't recognise when I play a video.
Have had a computer specialist around this morning and he has given up as he can't work it out either.
2 solid days trying to get it to work. Had someone round this morning who is a computer specialist and even he has given up. There have got to be better products out there that work.

I really doubt there is anything wrong with the Hardware or the Software…
You probably just need a SCART adapter like this kind – Here. Actually any electronics shop has them, just tell them you are capturing Video with a Composite device and they will ring you up.
Then you will have a usable signal.

Jo is from the UK. It's can be a whole different animal in how the connections are made, there.
And yes, Jo is getting answers, in these forums.
Turn off you antivirus, when you are installing the software.
