I'm trying to burn an .avi file created by Windows Moview Maker using the burner in the Easy VHS to DVD software. I can burn dvd's created in the Roxio software (they seem to be .avi files ) but when I try to burn an .avi file created in Windows Movie Maker I get an error message. The error message occurs after the roxio software completes the encoding process and begins the burning process. The error message is a MS Windows error and says " VideoWave 11 has stopped working". The file in question was imported from a VHS tape usng Roxio; the file was then edited using MS Movie Maker (including titles added to the project); the file was then published to my computer as an .avi file using MS Movie Maker. (Roxio won't recognize the MS Movie maker project files so I published it as an .avi file). This error only occurs when i try to burn an .avi flie created from Movie Maker; all other .avi files and Roxio project files burn ok. I'm using MS Movie Maker as edit tool cause we're more familiar with its features and have already done a lot of work on the file.
By the way. I can view the complete .avi file in Roxio before I try to burn it.
Any idea on how to resolve this problem? one suggestion has been to buy something called MS DVD Maker but that means upgrading to Windows 7 premium and I'm not ready to upgrage my OS at this time.
sorry for the long message ... just trying to get as much info into the message up front as possible.
thanks, robert

How long in time is your video file? I assume you are using myDVD to burn the video to a DVD. What happens if if you use Videowave (Edit Video) and "Export As" to a Mpeg DVD, best quality? That might show you where the problem is in your project.
If it completes then you can add the mpeg file in myDVD and try the burn. This process completely separates the encoding and burning process.
